A long Day

Today was so long....

Spent the day shopping with Val .
I hate shopping but she had a list, of stuff to get....
We got it all done and I'm glad to be home.

It was still raining and dreary when we left this morning...
But this is what I saw when unloading the after we got home...

1. I 'm a mostly SAHM but my baby leaves for college in July so I won't be one long....lol
2. I do work part time at a grain elevator my Hubby manages.
3.I have been scrapping about 5 years off and on.
4. I love "tring" new tecgniques and styles...
5. I have 4 dogs and a cat.
6.I tend to bore easily so I am always trying new things...
7.I have a hard remembering to blog on my blog....though I am trying...
8. I a scared of heights.

Yesterday was a long day and my 2 rnds in the progressive , turned into 3.... And I got all of them done....TFL

Today was The Presidental Pre-rounds Progressive Crop at SB. We had 2 rounds today and I got 2 LOs done...
It was fun.
Look forward to the 2 rnds tomorrow.Not sure I will be able to get both done,but I will try !!!! TFL.

Country Girl

I have been so bad at not posting on here....

I have been lacking when it comes to LO's but I have been spending more time stalking others blogs and ignoring mine....lol

Well I finally got a LO done and I think it is one of my faves. I have never done a circle LO and this week it was the twist on the weekly challenge at SB. The flowers are also homemade.I found this tutorial and they looked so different ,I had to try them. TFL !!!

Most of my work for today is done'...

I'm hoping tonight and this weekend I will get some time to scrap....I have 3 LO I really need to get done for challenges over at SB.com (a place I tend to hang out way to much...)

But today I want to post some of my other loves....Photography
It is so wonderful that both my main hobbies go together so well...Photography and Scrapping.These were done a couple days ago on my walk....Between snowstorms....

I have really got to start making myself blog here...I go in spurts,sometimes I do and then go long periods of nothing.... They say it takes 2 weeks to build a habbit and this is one I need to build....We will see !!!

Here is one of my latest Lo . This is one of old pictures. Val's 1st Birthday and she is now 18 yrs old...lol It was done for a challenge (i love) in SB.

The Ugly Paper Challenge.Each month you send and receive 2 12x12 pieces of "ugly"paper and an ugly embellishment.....using the embellishment is a twist and extra vote added to poll.

Changes

First I would like to say sorry to my blog for totally avoiding it last month....lol

Lots have been happening in my household but the biggest change I'm having to come to terms with is.... My BABY is now 18 and a Senior in HS and this school year is already half gone...

Saturday we went to view the Art Institute of Colorado. This is the college my daughter applied and got accepted to. I am not sure I'm ready for her to leave home but I know it is going to happen.And seeing the school,even though I am impressed by it,made this more of a reality.

I am so proud of her and I know she will do nothing but make me prouder in the future but it still hard to think of her leaving...

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while but lots have been going on.

Tuesday was the last regular volleyball games and the team just forgot how to play that night....It was pretty ugly.
Saturday will be Sub State tournaments and I was told if we win 2 we will go to State. Well my daughter ( who is a senior) told I did not have to go Saturday,since the coach is letting her play very little in the games.
This really hurts me, to watch someone who has played the game for the last 7 years in school. In the last games she has been put in for 1 or 2 plays then sits on the bench for rest of game. Both of us are ready for volleyball season to be over.
I just keep telling Val that the season is about over and how she has her whole future ahead of her.
While 'Memories " are wonderful to look back on, they are the past and you can't go back to then nor can you change them....You just have to keep looking forward to the future and grow.....

Ok on to happier topics....lol Val and I have been working on her Senior Pictures. And a photography site I joined has a challenge to take a picture using the rule of thirds. Well I looked back at the pics we took both her and I.Most of mine do not use this rule while most of her's do. I asked her about it and she didn't know there was that rule but it just made her pics look better...Which I agree it does and the rule makes sense, I just hadn't thought about it. The rule is you graph a pic in third both ways.Where the lines intersect you place your focal point. But in some pics I still believe it should be balanced (esp.portraits).

Another photography site I was looking at challenged their users to take a pic standing over the subject....I had never done this till I did Val's pics....Here is my favorite for that one...

Just got home from Volleyball game.....
Been a real stressful day...

October 15th

It has been a longgggggggggg week.
Last week we found out Val was accepted to the Art Institute of Colorado, so we have been working on paperwork for her entry.
Sunday night, I started a new diet program. I have got to start doing something and this is a start.
Tuesday Night was Senior Night at the Volleyball Game. We won 1 and lost 1 but they were great games....
And tonight is our last home football game, so Val will be dancing and playing in the band at half-time...
Oh did I tell you that tomorrow is an all day volleyball tourny? Another long day..
Maybe not having a child at home next year is not ALL bad....lol
